Putin orders govt to prepare Digital Economy program by Jun 2017
MOSCOW, Dec 7 (PRIME) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the government jointly with his administration to work out and approve the Digital Economy program by June 1, 2017, according to a document released late Tuesday on the Kremlin’s Web site.
The government should “stipulate measures to create legal, technical, organizational and financial conditions to develop the digital economy in the Russian Federation and its integration in the environment of the digital economy of the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union,” Putin said.
The union comprises Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
In the address to the parliament on December 1, Putin suggested launching a large-scale system program to develop the economy of a new technological generation, the digital economy, which should be based on domestic companies and research and development centers.
